We signed a contract with EMOAC that guarantees that 100% of our power consumption will be generated renewably, by wind, solar and geothermal energy, among other sources.

2020 was the year when we set the goal of including the focus of renewable energy in our operation. In 2022, our Coquimbo plant became the first to operate with 100% renewable energy. And in the period January 2023 to January 2024, EMOAC will begin to supply our three remaining power connections at the Coronel industrial fishing complex.

Cristian Larrain, our Chief Commercial and Sustainability Officer, remarked: “One of the sustainability goals of Orizon is that sustainability always be at the core of our operation and be something across the board in the way that we work. So, moving towards 100% renewable energy is the outcome of lengthy work and an analysis of how we can make specific, responsible changes to further our commitment to environmental care.”
